Level 2 Mental Health First Aid SCQF level 5 (In-Person training event )
The Mental Health First Aid Level 2 (SCQF Level 5) training course is designed to provide individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, understand and respond to mental health problems. The course covers a range of topics related to mental health, including common mental health problems, the effects of stigma, and practical skills for supporting someone in distress.
Throughout the course, participants will learn about the importance of mental health first aid, how to recognise when someone may be experiencing a mental health problem, and how to provide initial support. They will also gain an understanding of the recovery process and how to signpost individuals to appropriate professional help.
Participants will be assessed through a combination of written and practical assessments, including a multiple-choice question paper and a scenario-based assessment. Successful completion of the course will lead to a Level 2 qualification in First Aid for Mental Health (SCQF Level 5) certificate which is valid for 3 years.
