Tissue Viability and Woundcare Management (UK)

The aim of this course is to provide the knowledge and guidance to provide best practice standards to protect individuals from developing pressure ulcers. It also aims at teaching how to provide high quality, evidence-based care where a pressure ulcer exists. By the end of course, students will be able to describe the anatomy and physiology of the skin, assess grades of tissue damage, and understand the process of wound healing. They will be able to identify individuals at risk of developing pressure ulcers and factors which may contribute.
