Overview
Falls can happen to anyone anywhere but are most likely in the over 65s. It is estimated that over 20,000 people over the age of 65 are admitted to hospital every year due to a fall and 95% of hip fractures result from a fall. This discussion based interactive training will enable you to understand the risks and preventative measures that should be undertaken to prevent falls of the vulnerable person.

How and When?
This is a live interactive virtual training on the 10th November, 0900-1230hrs 

Objectives:
During this training we will discuss:
  • The extent of the 'falls' problem
  • The holistic impact of falls
  • The common causes of falls
  • How to risk assess your resident to minimise the risk of falls
  • Creating the prefect environment to minimise the risks of falls
Target Audience:
This course is aimed at anyone wishing to learn more about preventing and managing falls in the vulnerable. Particularly those staff working in the health and social care setting.

Duration:

This training session counts as 3.5 hours towards Continuing Professional Development required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

A certificate will be awarded on completion of the course.
